How the internet works
Friends, today’s era is the age of the Internet, the Internet has made a splash in the world today, there will be hardly anyone who has not heard the name of the Internet, and has not used it.
When we send messages on WhatsApp, email or Facebook, and our relatives sitting thousands of kilometers away can read our messages in a few seconds, all of this is just amazing on the Internet. Today it is very easy to send messages through the Internet to any corner of the world, we can get the news from any corner of the world in seconds.
What are the internet and its development?
The internet is made up of two words inter and net, inter means interconnect and net means mesh, which means a network that is interconnected.
The Internet is a web. It is the largest and busiest network in the world if it is said in simple words, the Internet of the computers of the world will be interconnected. When this network is established, we become part of a huge network, which we call Global Network, and can get any information available in any computer connected to this network.
1969 Tim Berners Lee created the Internet and in 1989 created the World Wide Web using browsers, pages and links to simplify communication on the Internet.
Every computer connected to the Internet has a different identity. This special identity is known as an IP Address. An IP address is a unique set of numbers (eg 184.108.40.206) that indicates the location of that computer.
Two or more interconnected network connections are called the Internet (International Network of Computers), when the humans stepped on the moon in 1969, the Advanced Research Projects Agency was appointed by the US to operate the network. At that time there was a network of only 4 computers. Later, it was gradually integrated with many agencies and the network grew and opened up to the general public.
There is no control of any agency on the Internet. In India, BSNL was first introduced to the Internet on 15 August 1995, later gradually private service providers Air Tail, Reliance, Idea, etc. started the Internet.
Internet networks originated in the 1960s by the US to build stronger communication via computer networks. The early 1990s saw the introduction of the modern Internet by connecting commercial networks and enterprises, and the rapid growth associated with institutional, personal, and mobile computer networks. By the late 2000s, it began to be used publicly and incorporated into almost every aspect of everyday life.
As of 30 March 2011, the estimated total number of Internet users was 2.095 billion (30.2% of the world population). If we do only India today, then about 45. 1 crore people use the Internet today.
Of which about 67 percent are male. According to the India Internet 2019 report, India is now second in the world after China. But so far only 36 percent areas of India have access to the internet. Therefore, this area will increase even more.
How does the internetwork?
How does the internetwork? You must be thinking that there will be a system in the clouds on us, inside which all the data stores of the internet reside and the internet runs. But let us tell you that there is nothing like that and earlier it was run by the satellite that we left.
Due to which the data was very slow download, but our engineer came out with such a technique, that is optical fiber which we are using today, using optical fiber increases the speed of the internet many times.
About 8 lakh km of optical fiber cables have been laid so far in the sea. 90% of the Internet is used by this cable. Optical fibers are laid in the sea with low losses and low cost. But due to laying in the sea only due to the large shipwreck, sometimes the ship’s anchor also damages the optical fiber.
Something similar happened on 13 January 2008 in Egypt. Due to which 70% of the internet of Egypt was shut down. This problem was also resolved. Many such teams are working in it today that monitor optical fiber 24 hours. When there is any loss in it, it is corrected immediately.
To understand it better, we divide it into 3 parts –
- First server
- Service Providers (BSNL, Airtel, Idea, Jio, etc.)
- Our browser
All the information is present on the server. As soon as we search any video or text through our PC, laptop, the mobile browser then the browser sends the searched text to the Internet service provider.
From there the service provider sends the request to the server, searches the server itself and sends the result back to the service provider and the service provider shows us the result on the browser. This process happens so quickly that we do not even know and it is done.
To connect the Internet to a computer, we have to get an Internet connection from the Internet service provider. Only then can we connect the internet to the computer. Because it gives us a way to connect to the Internet.
Computers can be connected to the Internet when we get an Internet connection. This connection is accessed in your computer only or via wireless Internet computer is added, this process is called online.
The Internet is not under any single company or government, but it has many servers connected to it, which belong to different institutions or private companies. Some popular internet services like a gopher, file transfer protocol, world wide web are used to get information on the internet.
Uses of Internet
Initially, the Internet was used by scientists only in research work. But gradually its use expanded and became public. Today it is also used in everyday activities. Today almost all tasks can be done at home via the Internet. like-
In today’s time, sending a message to someone has become very easy. It is very easy to transfer one information to another with the click of a computer. An example of that is email. Through email, we can send our messages, data, etc. in a very short time.
The Internet is also being used in connection with anyone. Earlier the work was done in hours, days, months. Today the same thing can be done in a few minutes. We can also relate to a person sitting thousands of kilometers away. To get information, for example, WhatsApp, Facebook, etc.
In today’s time, it is very easy to get information. With one click, we can get information about the world. Through the Internet, we can do this work easily from home. Search Engines are used to search for information on the Internet.
The Internet is also used in entertainment. Through this, we can see and hear movies, songs, videos, etc. Those who are fond of reading can read their favorite authors.
This is called the e-trade. Through the Internet, the market can be viewed from home and your goods can be purchased. We can buy our goods from the choice of sitting at home through the Internet, by looking at which items are there and which are not and which many options of those goods together. Apart from this, you can know the prevailing fashion. Today’s popular e-business is Amazon, Flipkart, Walmart, eBay, etc.
In today’s time, we can do a course just by sitting at home. You can choose your favorite school, in which college our course of choice is available and we can get all the information about that course like course fee, course duration, etc. on our computer. Today the field of e-learning has developed a lot. We can read from the best teacher in the world right from home.
Friends, this was the information about the Internet, how a person can get to his destination using the Internet at present. See where the internet is proving to be a boon, as well as a curse. Wherever there is a method of creation on the Internet, there is a demolition.
Now we have to choose whether we will create it or use it in your hands. Because while creation will give you respect and destruction, demolition will leave you in oblivion. Hope you have learned from this article – How does the Internet work?
